WEHBBA
With relentless work ethics, a die-hard passion for forward-thinking
music, and an unmistakable musical identity, Wehbba stands today at the
the forefront of the electronic music scene, as a creative force behind countless
chart-topping releases and explosive performances on a global scale.
Drawing from his background as a guitar player and composer, and the
raw attitude and energetic elements of techno music, Wehbba has been
serving the techno community with an extensive catalog of standout releases
on a wide range of leading record labels, from Mute to RAM Records, from
Soma to Bedrock, from Kompakt to Exhale, including 3 full-length albums and,
most notably in recent years, a long-standing relationship as a core artist from
Drumcode Records.
As a highly in-demand remixer, Wehbba has worked with some of the
most respected icons such as Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore, Laurent Garnier,
Kevin Sanderson, Danny Tenaglia, and most recently partnered up with
Swedish mastermind and Drumcode label boss Adam Beyer for a thunderous
collaboration, a remix for techno legend – and one of Wehbba’s main
influences – Luke Slater, for his classic “In From The Night” on Mote Evolver.
The list of high-profile collaborators goes on through the likes of Stephan
Bodzin, Joseph Capriati, ANNA, Sam Paganini, Scuba, Christian Smith, John
Digweed, Jam & Spoon, Dave Angel, and many more, a testament to Wehbba’s
reputation as a studio wizard with multiple facets.
His melodic, dense, and fierce rhythmic sound has echoed through
dance floors worldwide via a hectic DJ and Live touring schedule, including
performances at some of the main festivals and clubs, such as Awakenings,
Sonar, Tomorrowland, Resistance, Warehouse Project, Sonnemondsterne
Festival, Club Space, Fabric, Brooklyn Mirage, Warung, Crobar, Womb and
countless others.
On a constant quest to push the boundaries of live performances,
Wehbba has created the Live Station project, powered by a gear laden
hardware-only live setup, where he is able to display his full range of
production skills and performing live versions of his music while bringing the best
of live experimentation to the stage, with a strong focus on the dance floor.
A restless cultural instigator and avid collaborator, Wehbba is always
looking for the next thing, be it at his Anaweh Studio in partnership with ANNA,
where they’ve cultivated a community of over 1500 students based on their
successful Anaweh Studio Masterclass, or collaborating as a writer with a friend
and painter Virginie Chemla on their “Instinct” project, 2023, will see Wehbba
expand on new partnerships and forms of expression, kicking off with the
release of the “Premonition EP” in January.
