AEG and O2 Extend The O2 Naming Rights Through 2038 in Record UK Renewal

AEG and Virgin Media O2 have extended their naming-rights partnership for London's The O2 through 2038, in an agreement the companies describe as the largest renewal of its kind in UK history. Announced on October 7, the deal combines a long-term commitment to the venue's name with expanded ticket access for customers.

According to The Guardian, the agreement is worth approximately £200 million over 10 years. AEG has not disclosed financial terms.

A Venue Name With Long-Term Commercial Value

The joint announcement arrives ahead of The O2's 20th anniversary in 2027. The extension preserves an identity that has become closely associated with the London entertainment complex.

For the live-events business, that continuity is part of the agreement's significance. A venue name appears repeatedly across artist announcements, ticket listings, tour schedules, and audience conversations. Maintaining that association over decades can give a sponsor a presence that lasts well beyond any individual campaign.

Our reading is that the renewal illustrates how an established venue identity can support a broader commercial relationship. AEG supplies the setting and event activity around which the partnership operates; O2 connects that activity to benefits its customers can use.

Priority Tickets Expand Beyond the Main Arena

Under the new agreement, O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers will have access to 50% more tickets to shows at The O2 through Priority Tickets. As Music Business Worldwide reports, Priority access will also extend for the first time to indigo at The O2, the complex's 2,750-capacity venue.

The increase concerns the ticket inventory available through Priority. It does not represent a 50% increase in the arena's capacity or the total number of tickets available for every show.

The indigo addition broadens the partnership's reach within the complex. It gives the customer-benefit program a presence at a smaller scale, where the relationship between artist, audience, and room can differ substantially from an arena performance. That creates scope for the sponsorship to connect with fans across more stages of an artist's live career.

Why the Deal Matters Beyond Sponsorship

The commercial logic rests on connecting recognition with a practical reason to remain engaged. Naming rights make the brand visible; ticket access gives eligible customers a benefit attached to that visibility. Whether the expanded offering improves retention or attracts new customers will depend on its use and perceived value.

A related theme runs through PrimeEV's coverage of Apple Music Hall, where recording and broadcasting allow a small London venue to reach audiences beyond the room. The operating models differ, but both demonstrate how a venue can support a business relationship extending beyond admission revenue.

For promoters and venue operators, the useful question is what a partnership enables: access, repeat engagement, distinctive experiences, or distribution. The O2 renewal shows how a familiar name and tangible audience benefits can form part of the same long-term agreement.

Live Nation’s Embrace LDN Adds Second Date After Presale Sells Out in Under an Hour

Live Nation and Festival Republic’s new London festival, Embrace LDN, has added a second show featuring Josh Baker b2b KETTAMA b2b Prospa after the first date sold out within an hour of presale opening. The collaboration will now headline London’s Finsbury Park on July 3 and 4, 2027, giving the new festival an early demand story before its full lineup has been revealed.

According to DJ Mag, presale opened at 10 a.m. BST on September 29, with the Saturday show selling out within an hour. By 11:15 a.m., a Sunday performance had been announced.

A New Festival Built Around a Shared Headline Set

Embrace LDN was announced for July 2–4, 2027, with Baker, KETTAMA, and Prospa as its first headline booking. The added date extends their appearance across two days within that previously announced festival weekend.

As Dork reported when the festival was announced, Festival Republic described a program bringing established artists and emerging acts together, with an emphasis on local-community collaboration. Further programming remains to be announced.

From Coachella Collaboration to London Headliner

The combination has a performance history behind it. Baker, KETTAMA, and Prospa appeared together at Coachella’s Campground Party in April 2026, opening the festival’s second weekend with a back-to-back-to-back set. The Finsbury Park announcement billed their London appearance as their biggest headline show together to date.

Although the billing features three acts, the collaboration brings four performers behind the decks: Baker, KETTAMA, and the two members of Prospa. For the festival launch, that shared configuration gives audiences a specific attraction to buy into before the supporting lineup is complete.

What the Sellout Suggests About the Launch Strategy

From a promoter perspective, the notable feature is how much of the launch rests on the combination itself. Embrace LDN has made a joint performance its opening statement, giving the new festival an identity tied to an established collaboration.

The speed of the sellout suggests that this booking was enough to generate substantial early demand. It does not establish how much of that demand came from each act’s individual following, the appeal of seeing them together, or the wider promotional campaign. It does, however, show that a new festival can secure a strong initial response before announcing a complete bill.

Artist programming is also central to the expansion of established event brands. In Los Angeles, Framework’s re:frame Season 2 expands into a winter series of more than 25 nights. Embrace LDN offers a different example: launching a new property around one headline collaboration, then adding another performance in response to ticket demand.

July 4 Tickets and Further Announcements

At the time of DJ Mag’s September 29 report, Sunday presale tickets had reached the fifth release, priced at £110.40 for general admission. General sale for remaining July 4 tickets was scheduled for 10 a.m. BST on September 30.

Both performances are listed on Live Nation’s official Embrace LDN page, where readers can find event listings and ticket links. Prices and availability may change as sales continue.

Apple Music Hall Taps DICE and Communion ONE for Launch

Apple Music Hall has named DICE as its ticketing partner and Communion ONE as its booking and promotion partner, giving Apple’s new 600-capacity London venue an operating structure ahead of its inaugural concerts.

As reported by Music Week, Elton John will open the Battersea Power Station venue on September 28. The first eight shows also include Chase & Status, placing electronic music within an opening program spanning pop, hip-hop and other genres.

DICE and Communion ONE Join Apple’s Venue Operation

Independent UK promoter Communion ONE will support bookings and promotion, while DICE will provide ticketing. The arrangement brings specialist live-event partners into a venue built around Apple’s production and distribution capabilities.

For the live-music industry, that division of responsibilities is the central development. Apple is bringing outside expertise into the audience-facing concert operation while supplying the infrastructure to record and broadcast performances.

A Small Room With Global Reach

In its September 21 announcement, Apple outlined a venue designed to connect an intimate audience experience with extensive production facilities.

The room includes a 38-foot-wide reconfigurable stage and a 48-speaker spatial sound system. Two recording and mix studios allow performances to be captured and mixed in Spatial Audio, while infrastructure for at least 16 cameras feeds a dedicated broadcast control room.

That setup allows a single performance to produce a multitrack recording, a broadcast-ready mix and multicamera video. Apple also says performances from the venue will be livestreamed globally, extending their reach beyond the audience in London.

The First Eight Shows

  • September 28: Elton John
  • October 2: Baby Keem
  • October 7: Skye Newman
  • October 13: Troye Sivan
  • October 22: Arlo Parks
  • October 29: Burna Boy
  • November 26: Chase & Status
  • December 2: Charli xcx

For Chase & Status, the November appearance offers an intimate London setting ahead of their 2027 UK and Europe arena tour. The contrast highlights the range of settings electronic artists can occupy, from a 600-capacity room equipped for broadcasting to major headline venues.

Why the Partnerships Matter

Apple Music Hall brings venue programming, ticketing, recording and streaming into one coordinated operation. Its significance lies in how those functions connect: a show staged for 600 people can also become a recorded and broadcast production for a much larger audience.

The venue announcement also follows Apple Music’s partnership with Head Trip for a global livestream. The two projects illustrate complementary approaches to live music: broadcasting an independently promoted festival and building recording and streaming capabilities directly into a permanent venue.

The partnerships suggest an approach built around shared expertise. Communion ONE supports the concert program, DICE provides ticket access, and Apple connects the room to its wider music platform. The opening run will provide the first opportunity to see how that model works in practice.
